How to get started with 3D SVGs?
I'm new to crafting in general and want to try my hand at 3D SVGs! What would you folks recommend I need to get started and what's a good source to get them from.
Start with EASY projects (not too many colors or small pieces) so you will not get frustrated. As previously said, there are some wonderful EASY Dreaming Tree projects along with their fantastic, more challenging ones.
I love Dreaming Tree. They have recently joined CF. The video that is linked is always very informative. You can’t go wrong (in my opinion). Perhaps start with a simpler project.
Diving into the world of 3D SVGs is a fun and creative journey! Here's how you can get started with creating and using 3D SVG designs.
Understanding SVGs
SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics, which are used for creating two-dimensional images that can be scaled up or down without losing quality.
Getting the Right Tools
Design Software
Software such as Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape can be used to create intricate 2D SVG designs, which are the foundation for 3D SVGs.
3D Modeling Tools
Applications like Tinkercad, Blender, or Fusion 360 can help you design 3D models that can be transformed into SVG layers.
Creating 3D SVGs
Design in Layers
Start by designing your base SVG with layers that will represent different depth levels in the final 3D model.
Use Extrusion Techniques
You can extrude the 2D layers to add depth and create a 3D effect.
