I’ve got a question. Figured I’d just put it out here — maybe someone knows more than I do.
I use my Cricut pretty often, and most of the time it works fine. But when I try to cut small shapes out of cardstock — like tiny stars for Christmas cards — things go wrong. Instead of clean cuts, I get fuzzy edges. Or little torn blobs that don’t come out right.
I’ve tried different blades. Fine point, deep point. Played around with the settings. More pressure, slower speed, double cuts. Nothing really fixes it.
So here’s my question:
Has anyone actually managed to cut tiny details — like stars — neatly out of cardstock using a Cricut maker?

I have the Maker 4. It will cut longer projects - just like the Maker 3 - with Smart Materials. It is definitely faster on simple shapes, but still takes its time (a good thing) on more intricate cuts. One thing that I have noticed is with felt settings. I make a lot of felt stuffies, both from acrylic and wool blend felt. Typically, felt is cut with the rotary blade. The new setting for wool blend felt does not ask for the rotary blade - just the standard blade - and cuts VERY fast - too fast for my liking. When I do, it either works but doesn’t put the affiliate link and I can’t change it or add it; or it puts some other image to pin the page saying it’s studio etc?
